Tinder is a series of drawings made by dragging lit matchsticks across paper. The compositions are guided by both horror and fairy tale stories of finding true love through the digital dating app Tinder. I'm curious about the side effects afforded by the convenience of current technology and how we can manifest these experiences through analog processes. I was led to this idea through the film Gangs of New York, during which characters refer to matchsticks as tinder.
